‘Nellie One Piece Cardigan’ is a pattern that I adapted for my own children. I wanted something quick & easy, that I didn’t have to add on cuffs or front bands. This pattern incorporates both of those attributes, whilst knitting the one piece then requires least amount of sewing together, two side seams and underarms, and it is done.
Nellie – was the name of my very first pet lamb when I was a child.
Whilst a cardigan is not a unique piece of clothing, a hand knitted cardigan that you have created yourself is Truly Unique!
This pattern covers five size options, using different yarn weights:
Newborn - 4ply
0-6 moths - 8ply
6-12 month - 8ply
1-2 years - 12ply
3-4 years - 14ply
You will also need: Yarn Needle for Sewing, 2 x Stitch Holders, 3 x Buttons
Tension: as per the label on the yarn
